AI is not ART
As folks who think money overrules art, as a writer my heart is broken watching writers of books, plays, music, and movie/tv scripts being rewritten by AI or just plain eliminated as AI writes its own manuscripts with a one sentence premise.
As craven studio bosses, publishers, tv/film and theater producers rely on AI to tell them what will line their pockets with gold, rejecting what is new or good...my heart breaks as artists' work is no longer what merits exposure, just profits.
Yes, show"business" (including publishing) is a business - but forever til now, the people in the business were like high roller gamblers in Las Vegas, they knew it was a crap shoot - they knew there were no guaranties that they would hit the jackpot, but they loved the excitement and the quest for the brass ring in making something important, something memorable, maybe even everlasting... making art.
Where are the PT Barnums, Mike Todds, David Merricks, Bill Paleys, Clive Davises - the gamblers who believed in themselves and their guts? The visionaries who helped a lone creator (writers, painters, composers, etc) deliver art to the world. The people who passed their creative instinct to gamble and create something new to community theaters, art galleries, indie film companies and publishers. Have they all disappeared and given up their seats to bankers and corporate leaders? Have the bankers and corporate leaders taken over all the arts down to what we now see locally in our small towns, even in our big cities?
Art doesn't seem to matter anymore, the quest has only become getting the brass ring for these money and profit seekers...
Please, if someone wants to just make money, don't work in the arts. But, if you insist because of the "glamor" it may give you saying you're making a movie, publishing a book, producing a record or an art exhibition or a play, please don't ask permission or guidance from AI. Go with your gut. Go with what you believe (not what AI tells you to believe) is good... what you believe is art.

A.I. is useful in many ways but not for creating art. But of course the Pandora's box is open as to exactly what IS art. Objective? Subjective?
I thought no one would want to replace human creativity, that better minds would prevail. BUT BUT BUT. I realize now I'm pretty wrong about everything.
